Huelgoat Forest

Huelgoat Forest is beautiful, spectacular and atmospheric at any time of year but this year I have been absolutely spellbound by its beauty and colour. Autumn has never been a favourite season of mine - I am usually too preoccupied with mourning the loss of lightness and warmth of the summer to do anything but dread the winter. This year it has been different. I have been intoxicated with the colours and lights of Finistere in all its autumnal glory. I have wanted to photograph every moment.  Here then are a few collages all taken in Huelgoat forest - a few steps up (or down) the road from where we live.

Les Monts D'Arree

After a delicious lunch with a friend I drove back to Huelgoat through the Monts d'Arree. It is wonderful to have such amazing scenery on the doorstep. Lac du Drennec

We had a lovely walk around the Lac du Drennec. We spent a great afternoon and evening with friends outside Finistere in Morbihan. The biggest surprise was that Ally accepted the cats!

Lanildut with some dear friends

We had a marvellous stay in Lanildut with Jacques and Danielle. They made us incredibly welcome and took us on a great walk.

Pointe de Primel

Last week we had a fantastic walk on the Pointe de Primel which is an incredibly beautiful place. We have so many photos it's hard to know which to put on to do it justice. 5th November - Bonfire Night

Bonfire Night was celebrated at some friends' house with the 'guy' this year being a well known media tycoon. The fire and fireworks were excellent, as was the food and the company.

Paul Learns an Important New Skill November 2012

Following on from the Mushroom Festival and the Food and Drink Festival we were walking in Huelgoat Forest when we met Lucien, one of our neighbours who was out mushrooming. He told Paul where to find 'cepes' and showed us exactly what they looked like. Paul has picked some and we've eaten them - they were delicious!

We called in to the local Food and Drink Festival which ran for one of the week-ends during this stay.      There were lots of lovely things to buy and even better... to taste!
